Time

The greatest resource you have is time and you either spend time or you waste it. Spending time means you use it profitably and ideally in a way that is fulfilling to you. It might be working towards becoming a better dancer or a dinner with good friends or sitting down and doing nothing. Wasted time is exactly that, anytime spent with people you don’t enjoy are wasted and doing busy work without benefit is wasted. We all have the same 1440 minutes per day which is forever lost  unless you invest it in your future – future income, acquiring knowledge, gaining new dance skills or enhancing your personal life.

So, if you have trouble planning your dance practice, organising your dancing lessons and setting your priorities you need to book a private lesson.

Your will never succeed beyond the size of your vision. Your goals and vision are 2 different things. You may have a goal of being able to work into any club and be asked to dance all night non stop, but is that the full scope of your vision. How about owning a Simply Dance franchise or maybe 3 dance schools, Maybe your vision is to be one of the most respected dancer in England, Maybe you envisage a chain of your own dance schools or just having all the fun that you can have on the dance floor. It is critical that you spend time at the early stages of your dance career thinking of your vision.

Stop worrying about what other people think in regard to what you want to do. The chances are they don’t want you to succeed anyway. Your success will make them appear to be failures. If you need the approval of others at least seek a successful person you already admire. Surround yourself with positive people. Birds of a feather flock together. If you want to be a good dancer, then associate with those who are good dancers. Avoid negative people, losers and time wasters, please don't be one of them.

Balance hard dance practice with good old hard play. If you are a high achiever doing something you love to do. Its often hard to break away and spend time in other ways such as exercise or even attending to your spiritual needs but this balance is critical to your overall well being. Maintaining your equilibrium needs to become an essential priority. If you allow yourself to get out of balance things will start to go wrong in the area you are not attending to. If you are not exercising properly you will become sick or injured which will indirectly affect your dancing.
